Learning the names of rooms in English is a great first step to talk about your home and everyday activities. You will learn essential words like kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, e living room. These words help you describe where you eat, sleep, relax, and wash. For example, you cook delicious food in the kitchen, and you sleep comfortably in the bedroom. You watch TV in the living room, and you take a shower in the bathroom. Knowing these basic words helps you understand and speak about everyday life. It is important for simple conversations about your home or when you visit someone else’s house. Start with these four main rooms, and you will quickly build your vocabulary for describing a house in English.

Errori comuni per chi parla spagnolo

Spanish speakers sometimes forget to use the article “the” before the room name:

  • Wrong: I am in kitchen.
  • Corretto: I am in the kitchen.

Remember to use living room as one phrase. Do not say “room of living” (a direct translation from Spanish):

  • Wrong: This is the room of living.
  • Corretto: This is the living room.

Do not confuse bedroom (for sleeping) with bathroom (for washing):

  • I sleep in the bedroom. (Correct)
  • I take a shower in the bathroom. (Correct)
