What is the Present Continuous for?
We use the Present Continuous to talk about actions happening at the moment of speaking or temporary situations.
- Actions happening now: What you are doing at this exact moment.
- Temporary situations: Things happening for a short time.
- Changing situations: Things that are developing.
The form is: subject + am/is/are + verb-ing.
How are Present Simple and Present Continuous Different?
The main difference is about time. Present Simple is for general time or repeated actions. Present Continuous is for a specific time: now.
