What CEFR level should I start at?
Langcom offers a free placement test that places every new adult student at the right starting level, from A1 Beginner through C2 Proficiency.
How long does it take to go from A1 to C2?
Most students complete one CEFR level every 3 to 6 months with consistent classes, so reaching C2 from zero typically takes 2 to 3 years, though many students join partway through the ladder.
What is the difference between group and private classes for adults?
Group classes are small, level-matched classes on a fixed monthly schedule. Private 1-on-1 classes offer flexible scheduling and a fully personalized pace with the same certified teachers.
Do adult classes prepare for Cambridge or other international exams?
Yes. From B1 Pre-Intermediate onward, each level aligns with a corresponding Cambridge exam (PET, FCE, CAE, CPE), and Langcom also prepares students for TOEFL and IELTS.
