We use the Present Simple for several important situations:
- Hábitos y rutinas: Acciones que realizas con regularidad, cada día, cada semana o cada año. I wake up at 7 AM every day. She usually walks to work.
- General Truths and Facts: Things that are always true about the world. Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius. The Earth goes around the sun.
- Horarios y calendarios: Fixed events like train times, movie times, or class schedules. The bus arrives at 8:30 AM. The film starts at 9 PM.
- State Verbs: Verbs that describe states, feelings, thoughts, or possession, not actions. These verbs are rarely used in continuous tenses. Examples include like, love, hate, want, know, understand, believe, have (for possession). I like chocolate. She knows the answer. They have a big house.
How Do We Form the Present Simple?
Forming the Present Simple is quite simple, but remember the special rule for he, she, y it.

- Para I, you, we, they: Use the base form of the verb. I eat breakfast. They live in Madrid.
- Para he, she, it: Add -s o -es to the base verb. He eats breakfast. She lives in London. It rains a lot here.
Spelling Rules for -s/-es:
- Most verbs: Add -s (p. ej., work → works, play → plays).
