For numbers between 100 und 999, we use the word hundred.
You always say the number before hundred. Then, for numbers after hundred, we often use the word and (especially in British English).

How Do We Say Numbers from 1,000 to 999,999?
For numbers from 1,000 up to 999,999, we use the word thousand.
We use a comma (,) to separate thousands from hundreds. This makes numbers easier to read.
- 1,000 ist one thousand.
- 5,000 ist five thousand.
- 10,000 ist ten thousand.
- 25,400 ist twenty-five thousand, four hundred.
- 123,456 ist one hundred and twenty-three thousand, four hundred and fifty-six.
How Do We Say 1,000,000?
When a number reaches 1,000,000, we use the word million.
Just like with hundred und thousand, you say the number before million.
- 1,000,000 ist one million.
- 2,000,000 ist two million.
When Do We Use 'and' in Numbers?
In British English, we use and danach hundred und thousand when there are more numbers that follow.
- 101: one hundred and one.
- 520: five hundred and twenty.
- 1,005: one thousand and five.

If the number ends exactly on a hundred oder thousand, you do not use and.
