Adjectives are special words that describe nouns. They tell us more about people, animals, places, or things. Think of them like descriptive labels! For example, if you see a dog, you can say The dog is big. Here, big is an adjective. It tells us about the dog’s size. Adjectives help us make our sentences more interesting and clear. They answer questions like “What kind?” or “How many?” or “Which one?”. For instance, a beautiful flower uses beautiful to describe the flower. Or, a slow snail uses slow to describe the snail. In English, adjectives usually come before the noun they describe, like a fast car, or after a verb like is, as in The car is fast. Learning adjectives helps you talk about the world around you and describe things you see and feel every day.
